I once decided to introduce my children to the Bible. Since children often need their parents’ help to understand this holy book, I created an app with the most important Bible stories retold in simple language. Now children of any age can listen to and enjoy this incredibly valuable holy book.
In the beginning, there was nothing except God. Then God created the whole world step by step. He made the light and the darkness, the sky, the land, the sea, the sun, the moon, the stars, the plants, the fish, the birds, the animals, and finally people. God made everything with wisdom and love, and when He looked at all He had created, He said that it was very good.
Adam and Eve lived in the beautiful Garden of Eden, where everything was good and peaceful. God gave them one command, but they chose not to obey Him. Because of their sin, they had to leave the garden and begin a harder life outside of it. Even then, God did not stop caring for them and showed them mercy.
People on the earth had become very wicked, but Noah trusted God and obeyed Him. God told Noah to build a large ark and bring his family and many animals into it. When the flood came, the ark kept them safe above the waters. After the flood was over, God placed a rainbow in the sky as a sign of His promise.
After the flood, people began to live together and decided to build a very tall tower. They wanted to make themselves famous instead of honoring God. God saw their pride and confused their language so they could no longer understand one another. Then the people spread out across the earth and lived in different places.
God spoke to Abraham and asked him to leave his home and go to a new land. Abraham trusted God, even though he did not know exactly where he was going. God promised to bless him, give him many descendants, and make him the father of a great nation. Through Abraham, God planned to bring blessing to many people.
Jacob and Esau were twin brothers, but they were very different from each other. Their family had trouble because of jealousy, trickery, and anger. Jacob made wrong choices and Esau became very upset with him. But many years later, the brothers met again, and instead of fighting, they forgave each other and made peace.
Joseph was loved very much by his father, and this made his brothers jealous. They sold him and he was taken far away to Egypt, where he faced many painful and unfair things. But God was with Joseph in every trouble and helped him become a wise leader. In the end, Joseph forgave his brothers and helped save his whole family from hunger.
God’s people traveled for a long time before reaching the land He had promised them. It was not always easy, and sometimes they forgot to trust Him. But God stayed faithful and brought them safely into the land. There He helped them begin a new life and reminded them to obey Him and remember all He had done.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem in a humble place, not in a palace. Mary and Joseph cared for Him, and angels announced His birth as wonderful news. Shepherds came to see the baby, and later wise men came to worship Him. Jesus was God’s special gift to the world, sent to bring salvation and hope.
When Jesus was still a boy, He went with His family to Jerusalem. On the way home, Mary and Joseph realized He was not with them, so they went back to look for Him. They found Him in the temple, speaking with the teachers and asking wise questions. Everyone was amazed, because even as a boy, Jesus showed His love for God and His great understanding.
Some fishermen had worked all night and caught nothing at all. Then Jesus told them to put their nets into the water one more time. Even though it did not seem to make sense, they obeyed Him. Suddenly, they caught so many fish that their nets began to break, and they understood that Jesus had great power.
A large crowd came to listen to Jesus, and they stayed with Him all day. When evening came, the people were hungry, and there was not enough food. A boy had five loaves of bread and two fish, and Jesus took this small meal and blessed it. Then everyone ate until they were full, and there was even food left over.
Lazarus was a friend of Jesus, and when he became sick, his sisters were very worried. But before Jesus arrived, Lazarus died and was placed in a tomb. Everyone was sad and crying, yet Jesus spoke words of hope. Then He called Lazarus out of the tomb, and Lazarus came back to life.
Judas was one of Jesus’ disciples, but he made a terrible choice. He agreed to hand Jesus over to His enemies in exchange for money. This betrayal was very painful, because it came from someone close to Him. Still, Jesus already knew what would happen and continued to follow His Father’s plan.
One night, Jesus was praying in the garden when soldiers came to arrest Him. His disciples were frightened and confused by what was happening. Jesus did not run away or fight back, even though He had the power to do so. He went with them willingly, because He was ready to obey God’s plan completely.
Two followers of Jesus were walking to a village called Emmaus. They felt sad and confused about everything that had happened. Jesus came and walked with them, but at first they did not recognize Him. Later, when He broke bread with them, they understood that it was really Jesus, and they were filled with joy.
A younger son asked for his inheritance and left his father’s home. He wasted everything he had and soon found himself hungry, poor, and unhappy. Then he decided to return home and ask for forgiveness. His father ran to meet him, welcomed him back with love, and showed that true forgiveness is full of mercy.
After rising from the dead, Jesus spent time with His disciples and taught them many things. He reminded them to tell others the good news and to wait for the Holy Spirit. Then Jesus was taken up into heaven while they were watching. Even though He was no longer with them in the same way, His followers knew He was still their Lord.
The Israelites were afraid of a giant warrior named Goliath, who challenged them every day. David was still young, but he trusted God and was not afraid. He went out to face the giant with only a sling and some stones. God helped David win, showing that His power is greater than human strength.
Jesus’ followers were gathered together when something amazing happened. The Holy Spirit came with the sound of a mighty wind and gave them courage and power. They began to speak in different languages so many people could understand them. From that day on, they boldly told others about Jesus.
Daniel loved God and prayed to Him every day, even when it became dangerous. Some jealous men made a plan to trap him, and Daniel was thrown into a den of lions. But God sent His angel to protect him, and the lions did not hurt him. In the morning, Daniel was found safe, and everyone saw that God had cared for him.
Three men named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow down to a golden statue. Because they obeyed God instead of the king, they were thrown into a blazing furnace. But God was with them in the fire, and they were not burned. When they came out safely, everyone saw how powerful God is.
Paul and Silas were put in prison because they preached about God. Even there, they prayed and sang songs instead of giving up. During the night, a strong earthquake shook the prison and opened the doors. This miracle helped others see God’s power, and even the jailer believed.
God told Jonah to go and speak to the people of Nineveh, but Jonah did not want to obey. Instead, he tried to run away by ship. A great storm came, and Jonah ended up in the sea, where a big fish swallowed him. Inside the fish, Jonah prayed to God, and later he learned to obey Him.
Zacchaeus was a tax collector, and many people did not like him. He wanted to see Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd, so he climbed a tree. Jesus saw him, called him by name, and went to his house. Zacchaeus was so touched by Jesus’ kindness that he decided to change his life and do what was right.
When Paul came to Athens, he saw that many people worshiped idols and did not know the true God. He spoke to them kindly and wisely, using things they could understand. Paul told them about the God who created the world and gives life to everyone. Some people laughed, but others listened and wanted to learn more.
